Great Wines Of France Plus Pairing Suggestions
Without any hesitation we can say that great to drink French wines. France produce the most. They consume the most. Haven't try their wines. It's high time to start. We would like to highlight some great suggestion for their wines and hereby you can find food pairing tips as well.
Our first destination is Rhone. The northern sub-region sometimes blended with white wine grapes, and white wines from Viognier grapes, but famous to produce red wines from the Syrah grape. A great selection is Delas St. Joseph Francois de Tournon (2005) The wine's color is a deep, dark ruby red with garnet wick gourmet reflection. The nose is clearly marked by delicate aromas of cassis and spices. On the palate, "Franois de Tournon" shows a tender, voluptuous texture that masks a good tannic structure, fine and silky. Will age well. Try it with Duck with peppercorns or Beef Daube.
One of the most famous region is Languedoc-Roussillon. Beziers is the capitol this region and it has really fine wines. One of the best is Pinot Noir there. Tortoise Creek Pinot Noir (2008) is a well-balanced, soft and easier wine, fulfilled with violet aromas. Furthermore you can feel the red berry's flavor and the characteristic cherry fruit. Try it with Bourguignon.
Oops, we have just arrived to La Noble vineyard at the west of Carcassone. They make real country wines, for example La Noble Merlot (2005). It has very fruity intense purple colored wine. Plum aroma, spice and green pepper are leading to a smooth finish with higher tannin content. Great mix. This is a excellent choice for fishes such as Grilled Tuna Steaks.
We mustn't forget Bordeaux. A nice town n the region is Medoc which is very famous of Bordeaux Red Blends. Elegant, tannic and harmonious wines come from here. One of the best is Chateau Lamothe Pontac Medoc from 2005. This also a fruity wine with cherry and vanilla notes. Fulfilled with spices, and of the most important is cinnamon which is quite rare. We offer for this well-balanced fine wine Roasted Mutton.
Finally we arrived to Minervious where wines are structured and elegant when young, quite tannic and silky after 2 or 3 years in a cellar. One ipf the icon of the wines is Chateau Maris Minervois La Touge (2004). This one is spicy also, but local wild herb flavors and blackberry write over the spice. La Togue is a rich wine with higher tannin content. Due to its herb feeling pair with Herb Crusted Lamb Chops.
Here I wanted to tell you selected information about some French wines that you may not have heard of but should give a try.
Enjoy!
